Fire Safety Training

The actions of staff if there is a fire are likely to be crucial to their safety and that of other people in the premises.

All staff should receive basic fire safety induction training and attend refresher sessions at pre-determined intervals. Staff who are expected to perform the role of Fire Warden (Marshal) will require more comprehensive training. HBI therefore provide courses in the following:

Fire Safety Awareness

A short course (Maximum 2 hours) discussing the following principles of fire safety:

  • What is fire and how it spreads
  • Preventing fire and controlling it’s effects
  • Means of escape
  • Raising the alarm
  • Theory on the use of fire extinguishers
  • Implementing the emergency evacuation plan in relation to their building

The Role Of The Fire Warden

This half-day course looks at the principles of fire safety including:

  • What is fire and how it spreads
  • The role of the Fire Warden in ensuring safe building evacuation
  • Using fire fighting equipment

Fire Warden ‘Train The Trainer’

A half-day course encompassing ‘The Role of Fire Warden’ course with additional content covering:

  • Current fire legislation
  • Helpful tips and training techniques and where to obtain training resources
